Green, the color of spring, money, and envy. All three of those, with the inclusion of green beer, complete the story I am going to share, when I first convinced my husband to join me for a St. Patty's Day party.

I met my husband in college, ten years ago, and on, Valentine's Day. Yes, really. He was pure, innocent and naive. His clothes were pressed, with a crease in the jeans. All in all, my new man was dorky, a true nerd to the very meaning of the word. And I, Miss popular, had somehow come to find his comic book loving, quietly shy ways endearing. By the time March rolled around, I knew I lusted for him, and was trying hard to get him into my bed *wink wink nudge nudge*.  He wasn't budging on that, and honestly, it was driving me mad, not to mention I couldn't get him to do anything out of the box. Not even cuss! But finally, I had an excuse. My coed fraternity was having a party for St. Patty's Day, and after begging in the cutest of ways, I got him to come with me.

He hated it, as there was a cover, which he paid, but thought was stupid (see money), and it was pretty dang warm out, a sign that spring was coming. And we all know what happens when the weather changes, people get crazy, and this party was no different. By this time, I was on edge with lust, needing him in a way I've never needed another human being. But I couldn't seem to seal the deal. As the party continued, I drank, mingled, and spoke to my male friends. I have a lot of male friends to this day, as I seem to relate to them better, and while I enjoyed the festivities of shamrocks and drunken Irish songs, I didn't notice my boyfriend standing against wall, seething with envy.

Suddenly, the typical, testosterone need to impress took over his normally, logical mind, and he grabbed up a plastic cup, filled it with green beer, and chugged it down. The whole room went quiet. I stood shocked by what I witnessed. Here was the sweetest, anti social guy, drinking his first beer, becaue he thought he had to keep me. It was funny, adorable, but funny. I grabbed him up, told him he didn't need to do that, and practically growling at me, told me that we needed to go. NOW. Excited, I ran out of the party with him in tow, got back to my dorm, and stripped faster than I thought possible. Naked, feeling randy, and oh so sexy, I turned, but instead of seeing him joining me, he actually looked a little...well...green. Then, before he could utter a word, or reach the trash, he spewed his green beer all over me, crying how he would never drink again, and after cleaning us up, I tucked him into bed, cuddled him until he slept, and sighed in the dark.

And yes, ten years, and three kids later, my husband has not laid his hand on another drink. The mention of green beer, makes him frown, and he is even more antisocial than ever before. But it works, and I think that night helped me realize the lust I felt was love, because I had no problem just holding him close. It was a turning point in our relationship. And don't worry, I got him a few weeks later in my bed. Muahahaha!

So that's my story, I hope you enjoyed a look into my crazy life. Enjoy your St. Patty's Day, and hey, have a green beer for my hubby. since he won't!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!

Awwww...I loved that story. I'm not a beer drinker at all, just don't like the taste, but I do drink wine and mixed drinks! So maybe I'll have some margaritas, they are green after all ;)

I have to say I like the green on money. Spring is nice, but winter and autumn are my favorite seasons and spring green signals the end of winter! Boo Hoo.

I definitely have to say Spring! I have the look of the trees in winter, they look so naked and pathetic. Spring time they get all green and beautiful again, and it's also just kind of an uplift in spirits too.

I love Spring because it means I can spend more time outdoors and money comes in close because it would allow me to do the things I enjoy.
